There are several fees associated with playing basketball.
Registration Fee

Dulwich Newtown Basketball teams play primarily in the City of Sydney Basketball Association Competition, and Glebe PCYC Spirit Basketball Association competitions. Each player has to pay an annual registration fee which covers player insurance, State Sporting Club (BNSW) and Association membership. Registration for all CSBA competitions must be paid online here, BEFORE you take the court. Note that no player will be able to take the court without registering. There is a usually a week or 2 of registration grace, but this is an essential cost to protect your child.

Registration is paid directly to BNSW and covers your child for injury, insurance and BNSW membership. Some of the registration fee also goes to the City of Sydney Basketball Association. If you have previously registered, you will get an email from BNSW approximately one month before your registration is due to expire. If you are new to basketball, please contact me and I will provide you with further information.

Playing Fee

The Club charges a playing fee each season based on the cost of entering the teams (depending on the number of games in the season).

This covers game participation, training, club supervisors and club administration costs.  Club Fees DO NOT COVER REGISTRATION!

We cannot confirm total season costs until City of Sydney Basketball Association sends us their team fee entry, which usually 4 weeks into the season.

Fees vary from $190 to $320 per season depending on the number of games, whether the team trains or not, the level of coaching provided and the category of the team.

Playing fees can be paid directly to the DNBC Manager at the game and can be Cash, Cheque or Eftpos or can be paid over the internet by Direct Debit (details below).

Preference is for the fees to be paid at the commencement of the basketball season.

To confirm a team spot, all players are asked to pay a $100 deposit on their team fees. The remainder must be paid before the end of the season.

Basketball is expensive to play. At DNBC, we try to keep costs low, but it does cost money to play. It is a Club objective and goal to keep costs low to make basketball accessible and affordable, but we have employees and operating costs. We will make every effort to make sure we keep costs affordable but still offer a great service that keeps your child safe and makes basketball fun and challenging at the same time.

Uniform Fee

We normally provide a singlet top for the game and collect them after the game. Players should wear blue shorts.

After a while we ask the player to purchase a uniform consisting of singlet top & shorts for $75 the set.

The singlet top can be made with the players preferred name and number. The uniforms are ordered (individual players measurements) and then made locally - this takes 4 to 8 weeks.
