COSTS & FEES
There are several fees associated with playing basketball.
Dulwich Newtown Basketball teams play primarily in the City of Sydney Basketball Association Competition, and Glebe PCYC Spirit Basketball Association competitions. Each player has to pay an annual registration fee which covers player insurance, State Sporting Club (BNSW) and Association membership. Registration for all CSBA competitions must be paid online here, BEFORE you take the court. Note that no player will be able to take the court without registering. There is a usually a week or 2 of registration grace, but this is an essential cost to protect your child.
The Club charges a playing fee each season based on the cost of entering the teams (depending on the number of games in the season).
This covers game participation, training, club supervisors and club administration costs.
We cannot confirm total season costs until City of Sydney Basketball Association sends us their team fee entry, which usually 4 weeks into the season.
Fees vary from $190 to $320 per season depending on the number of games, whether the team trains or not, the level of coaching provided and the category of the team.
Once the amount is determined, we will send out individual invoices containing instructions for a range of payment options.
Basketball is expensive to play. At DNBC, we try to keep costs low, but it does cost money to play. It is a Club objective and goal to keep costs low to make basketball accessible and affordable, but we have employees and operating costs. We will make every effort to make sure we keep costs affordable but still offer a great service that keeps your child safe and makes basketball fun and challenging at the same time.
Every player is required to purchase a jersey to wear in games. They can be purchased at the below link. Note that jerseys take at least 4-6 weeks to arrive so in the interim we are able to offer one as a loan while you wait for it to arrive.
If anyone is experiencing difficulty due to financial hardship or other circumstances, please contact the club by email and provide evidence. We can make a payment arrangement that suits your circumstances, or, in severe cases of financial hardship, we may be able to make use of some grant money which has been awarded to our Club for these sort of circumstances.
All grants of financial assistance are solely at the discretion of the Treasurer and the Junior Development Officer.
